Here We Are
The death of a child is unbearable. I have lost 2. Nathan, only 10 minutes old and Nim, killed aged 24 years. One of the hardest parts of this life journey for me has been having to consign my future, a life ahead with Nim, his growth to manhood, his future dreams of family, of love, of ambition with his music and nature, of his deep kindness, intuition and spirituality a life with his ongoing presence, the timbre and resonance of his voice. The knowledge that everything ahead would now be consigned to the past was/is inconceivable yet actual. How does such love become only memory? More so when that love remains as active today as it was yesterday? After Nim had died we found a song of his we hadn’t heard before, its lyrics included the line, “Life is a journey, nah let the world concern me, love in my heart keep the world free ‘till the Most High return me”. Here we are Nim.
