Subject: Urgent Need for Support Services for Neurodivergent Adults in Our Area

Dear [MP’s/Councillor’s/Commissioner’s Name],

I’m writing to raise serious concerns about the lack of ongoing support for neurodivergent adults in [your area/local authority].

While much attention is (rightfully) given to the needs of neurodivergent children, many individuals are left to fend for themselves once they reach adulthood. Post-diagnostic support is rare or non-existent. Services around mental health, employment, housing, and social care often fail to recognise or accommodate autistic or otherwise neurodivergent adults.

I would like to know:

What support pathways currently exist in our area for neurodivergent adults?

Are there any plans to develop post-diagnostic care or tailored adult services?

Will you back policies that establish lifelong support—not just during childhood?

Without meaningful change, too many adults are being left to fall through the cracks of a system that stops at 18. I urge you to champion this issue and work toward real, long-term support.

Kind regards, [Your Name] [Your postcode]
