The criminal justice system in its current form is not fit for children and only serves to exacerbate unsafe societies. Children’s mental health and wellbeing is a deeply serious issue that needs to be grounded in intervention and safe alternatives. The arguments of lack of funding fall flat in the light of the huge profits of private enterprise in the field.
