April Shimmers

April Shimmers is a semi abstract springtime inspired landscape painting of apple blossom trees by a river. It is 30x30x1.5inches. The inspiration for it was a memory I have of this river and the blossom trees as I saw them one April a few years ago. I spent a little while just enjoying the moment and listening to the birds and trickling of the river. Anyone who paints will know that the difficulty you have when painting nature is there is so much of it. You can’t paint every leaf and every flower so you have the find a way to show the feeling of it – which I am confident I have achieved. It will give me spring whenever I need it – especially in an English winter when the promise of spring is really needed!
